Participatory health research is a promising approach to addressing issues of health equity. But how can academics, practitioners and civil society work together? What are the potentials and challenges associated with the approach? This first German-language online workshop series on participatory health research offered participants the opportunity to explore these and other questions. The series was hosted by PartKommPlus—Research  Consortium for Healthy Communities. The consortium conducted various participatory research projects for a period of six years as part of the federal government's "Prevention Research" funding program.
